Preserve Calavera has teams of volunteers that help gather scientific data for local agencies/organizations. These include they Preserve Calavera Tracking Team and the Buena Vista Creek SD Coastkeeper Water Quality team. Our CRAM (California Rapid Assessment Method) team periodically evaluates the Buena Vista Creek within the ecological reserve for buffer conditions, hydrology, and physical and biotic structure.
We’re starting a new iNaturalist project to monitor butterflies in our area. Also, March- July some volunteers in our area help track grunion runs along our coast. Contact pdecino@preservecalavera.org if you’d like to get involved in either of these projects.
