Buena Vista Audubon Society (BVAS) successfully acquired additional wetlands across the street from the Nature Center in Oceanside. Preserve Calavera was a major partner in this effort and we were excited about this acquisition. See the October 2015 BVAS newsletter excerpt for more details:
In 2023 we were able to use some of our Oceanside Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Reduction Funds to help develop some of the design plans for this property since wetlands have been shown to help sequester carbon. Just recently, BVAS shared an update of the progress on their efforts to restore this site. Check out their site for more information
