Preserve Calavera has been working with the Wildlife and Habitat Conservation Coalition and the CA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife over protection of important habitat in the Carlsbad Highlands Ecological Reserve (south of the Lake Calavera Preserve in Carlsbad). Our wildlife tracking team has monitored the area (legally) for more than 15 years and has seen the changes on the ground firsthand. We have now suspended our surveys due to high traffic on the trails.
