Wildlife Appreciation : Raptors, Owls and Birds of Prey
Historic Marron Adobe (Hwy 78, take College Blvd exit south, first right turn (west) at Plaza/Haymar Drive)
Did you know....we have a fish eating hawk...a ground nesting owl... an eagle larger than the Bald Eagle? We will learn about these and many more of our local feathered friends at the historic Marron Adobe in the Buena Vista Creek Valley. A birding walk, led by a local expert Steve Brad of Buena Vista Audubon, will showcase some local residents. Then, a presentation by Nancy Conney of Sky Hunters, a non-profit raptor rehabilitation and education organization, will share her wealth of knowledge about these amazing birds. She will have some friends for us to meet too. Light refreshment, the birding tracking box, and a raffle and silent auction will include something for everyone. This will be the first opportunity for the public to experience the newest ecological reserve in No County- Buena Creek (former Sherman property) . For more info email us or call Karen at 760-438-1209.
